The wait is finally over. Tempus Rex 2026 has officially kicked off, and Rolex has proven once again why they remain the undisputed kings of the industry. While many expected subtle updates, we’ve been gifted with brand-brand new materials, artisan dial techniques, and a technical masterclass in metallurgy. Here are the heavy hitters you need to know about from the 2026 lineup.
The Day-Date 40: A New Era in "Jubilee Gold
The biggest headline this year isn’t a new movement, but an entirely new metal. Rolex has introduced Jubilee Gold, a proprietary 18-ct alloy developed in their own foundry. It’s a sophisticated blend that balances the warmth of yellow gold with the softness of pink and grey tones. It’s less “loud” than traditional gold, making it the ultimate “quiet luxury.” statement.
This model (Ref. 228235JG) features a stunning Green Aventurine stone dial. Because it’s natural quartz, no two dials are identical—the subtle mineral sparkles perfectly complement the new Jubilee Gold case. Finished with 10 baguette-cut diamonds and the iconic President bracelet, this is arguably the most elegant DayDate we’ve seen in a decade.
The Cosmograph Daytona: "Rolesium" Meets Grand Feu Enamel
For the first time, Rolex has brought Rolesium (a combination of Oystersteel and Platinum) to the Daytona line. But the metal is only half the story. The new
Daytona Ref. 126502 features a white Grand Feu enamel dial. This isn’t just paint; it’s glass powder fired at over 800°C, resulting in a deep, milky luster that will never fade.

The anthracite Cerachrom bezel enriched with tungsten carbide adds a modern touch, while the horizontal tachymetric scale pays a direct nod to the original 1963 design. Collectors will also appreciate the transparent sapphire caseback, allowing a view of the beautiful 4131 movement.
Celebrating 100 Years of the Oyster
Lest we forget, 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the Oyster case. To celebrate, Rolex dropped a commemorative Oyster Perpetual 41 in yellow Rolesor. It features a slate dial with a “100 Years” inscription at 6 o’clock and unique green square markers on the minute track. It’s a piece of history that collectors are already scrambling to get on “the list” for.
Rolex 2026 is about a return to craft. Between the natural stone dials and the technical achievement of Grand Feu enamel, the brand is showing it can be just as much an “artist” as it is an “engineer.”
